Beaujon Hospital, Clichy. Jamal Abdel Kader is the only psychiatrist in the 400-bed hospital. Dedicated to his patients, he tries to soothe their pain, to listen to their words, to protect them from their own demons.

However, the public health service is not doing well. There is not enough time, the caregivers are cracking up. Yet Jamal and his colleagues keep striving to fulfill their mission: to heal souls and bodies. But they still have to stay on their feet.

Nicolas Peduzzi is a french comedian and director. Born in 1982 in Paris, he studies theater and cinema in New York, which led him to co-writing the boards of an off broadway play directed by Susan Batson. He then directs several shorts and videos. Back to Paris, Nicolas works for Luc Bondy with an appearance in “Les fausses confidences”, or with a role in “Ivanov”, played at the Odeon Theatre. He creates his first feature film, the documentary “Southern Belle” which already observes his texan protagonists. Released in 2018, the movie wins the grand prize of FID Marseille, and gets into the “best documentaries of the month” selection of 2019.
