Synopsis

Weapons, ballot boxes or the street. Georges, Joumana, Perla. Three intersecting destinies, three generations and the same desire to change a sick country: Lebanon. As crises follow one another inexorably, they find themselves faced with a dilemma: save the world or save themselves?

Myriam EL HAJJ

Myriam el Hajj was born in 1983 in Beirut. She holds a Master's degree in Cinema and Audiovisual Production and Creation and another Master's degree in Theatrical Studies-Performing Arts, from the University of Paris 8-Vincennes-Saint Denis.

Myriam was a member of the Commedia Dell'Arte troupe “Les Festinanti” for 7 years.

Her first documentary feature, Trêve, produced by Abbout Productions (Lebanon), and Inthemood production (France) premiered at the Visions du Réel festival in Nyon and then at the Entrevues de Belfort. The film won several awards including the Prix Découverte Audiovisuelle of the SCAM.

Following on from Trêve, Myriam is now developing her second documentary Suspendu(s) with Abbout Productions and Gogogo Films.
She is also working on her first feature film, Commedia, produced by Abbout productions and Andolfi production.

Alongside her cinematographic activities, Myriam has been since 2015, artistic director at the Fondation Liban Cinéma, an association for the support of Lebanese cinema. She has been teaching cinema at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts since 2011.
