Prix - Sélection officielle

In 1994, Patrick Sobelman records his grandmother Golda Maria Tondovska in her house.

In front of the camera, her memories come back, from her childhood in Poland to her life as a woman in France, delivering to us the living testimony of a Jewish woman born in 1910, her voyage across the century and the horror she’s had to live through.

In 2020, Patrick and his son Hugo translated this intimate testimony into a universal and essential film.

Patrick Grumberg

"Golda tells us that we must live, and if necessary survive, and above all that we must pass on and pass on again so that those who survive us will have the same determination, the same courage, the same desire to make films as a family, the family of humans, which will also triumph over the new barbarities that will not fail to appear in history"
